FM Heads to Vienna for Bilateral Talks

Cairo: Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty departed for Vienna on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, on a visit aimed at strengthening relations between the two countries across various fields. During the visit, Abdelatty is scheduled to hold a series of meetings with senior Austrian government officials to discuss ways to further develop bilateral ties and exchange views on a number of regional and international issues of mutual interest.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the visit will also witness the first round of political consultations between the two countries, in implementation of the political consultation mechanism signed in June 2025. The agenda of these consultations is focused on facilitating enhanced cooperation in economic, cultural, and technological domains, which are seen as pivotal areas for mutual development.

The discussions are expected to cover a wide array of topics, including trade partnerships, investment opportunities, and collaborative projects in renewable energy. Both nations are keen on fostering a cooperative environment that promotes sustainable growth and addresses global challenges such as climate change.

In addition to official meetings, Abdelatty will also engage with the Egyptian expatriate community in Austria, addressing their concerns and highlighting the government's efforts to support citizens abroad. This interaction is part of Egypt's broader strategy to maintain strong ties with its diaspora and to involve them in the nation's development plans.
