Cairo: Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty said that maintaining continued engagement with Egyptian communities abroad remains a key pillar of the ministry's work, in line with directives from President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to provide Egyptian expatriates with the highest levels of care and improve services offered to them.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the Minister made the remarks during a meeting on Thursday, July 23, 2026, with members of the Egyptian community in the Philippines, held on the sidelines of his visit to Manila to participate in the ASEAN ministerial meeting, in the presence of Egypt's ambassador to the Philippines Nader Zaki.

The Minister expressed pride in the national role played by the Egyptian community in the Philippines and its contribution to strengthening Egyptian-Philippine relations, praising its members for projecting a positive image of Egypt and helping foster closer ties between the two peoples.

Abdelatty also reviewed the ministry's efforts to modernize consular services and expand their digitalization to facilitate procedures and improve the quality of services provided to Egyptians abroad, in addition to initiatives implemented in cooperation with various state institutions to strengthen expatriates' ties with their homeland.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Abdelatty held an open discussion with members of the community, listening to their views and proposals on issues of concern and reaffirming the ministry's commitment to further developing communication mechanisms and responding to the needs and aspirations of Egyptians abroad.
