FM Engages with UK Counterpart to Address Israel-Iran Tensions

Cairo: Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty reiterated Egypt's call for ending the current escalation and resuming negotiations to reach an agreement on Iran's nuclear program. The top diplomat gave the remarks during a phone call with his British counterpart, David Lammy, as part of intensive contacts over the military escalation between Israel and Iran.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the two ministers exchanged views on the escalating situation, with Abdelatty emphasizing the need to maintain European efforts and international coordination to contain the crisis and prevent the conflict from expanding. The ministers agreed to maintain close coordination and work hand in hand to de-escalate the situation and make the best use of available diplomatic channels to achieve calm in the region.
