FM Co-Chaired 2nd Ministerial Conference of the Russia-Africa Partnership Forum

Cairo: Russia and African countries reaffirmed the need to address water scarcity at the conclusion of the second ministerial conference of the Russia-Africa Partnership Forum, held in Cairo on December 19-20. Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty co-chaired the meeting alongside Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Angolan Foreign Minister T©te Ant³nio, chairperson of the Africa Union Executive Council.

According to State Information Service Egypt, in the final communiqu©, they urged bolstering cooperation among riparian states on the basis of equality of rights, the community of interest, and the applicable principles of international law. The joint statement also reflected a shared political will to deepen economic, trade and investment cooperation between Russia and African countries, while supporting peace and security.

Participants further pledged to advance sustainable development efforts and pursue common interests through closer partnership between Russia and Africa.
