Cairo: Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptians Expatriates Badr Abdelatty met with Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Mohamed Farid on Sunday to enhance coordination between their ministries to support investment-attraction efforts, promote foreign trade, and stimulate economic development.
According to State Information Service Egypt, the meeting was followed by an expanded dialogue with ambassadors recently assigned abroad to head diplomatic missions. This gathering aimed to bolster cooperation between the two ministries, reviewing strategies to attract foreign direct investment and promote investment opportunities in various priority sectors. The discussions also focused on opening new foreign markets for Egyptian exports and increasing trade, aligning with Egypt's economic development goals and the objectives set forth in Egypt Vision 2030.
The meeting further explored ways to strengthen cooperation and institutional partnerships between the ministries in promoting the Egyptian economy internationally. Enhanced coordination between Egyptian diplomatic missions and commercial representation offices was emphasized, with the aim of targeting promising markets and attracting foreign investment.
Talks highlighted Egypt's advancements in improving the investment climate and infrastructure development, which are seen as enhancing the competitiveness of the Egyptian economy and supporting the state's economic development efforts.
Farid emphasized that the ministry is committed to safeguarding Egypt's trade and investment interests as a basis for increasing exports and attracting investments that yield economic and social benefits. He noted that the Egyptian economy is experiencing stability in its macroeconomic indicators, indicating a positive trend in the country's investment environment.
