Finance Ministry Allocates EGP 55.663 Billion for Social Security

Cairo: EGP 55.663 billion was allocated for social security under the draft state general budget for the fiscal year 2025/2026. The Ministry of Finance announced the allocation, outlining the distribution of funds aimed at bolstering various social welfare programs.According to State Information Service Egypt, EGP 54 billion of the allocated budget will fund social solidarity assistance, the Takaful and Karama Program, and the community education support program. Additionally, EGP 147 million is earmarked for child pensions, while EGP 1.516 billion will support social allowance and the national program for early childhood development.The budget for the treatment of Egyptian citizens at the state's expense is set to rise by 50% in the 2025/2026 fiscal year, reaching approximately EGP 15.130 billion. This marks an increase from EGP 10.091 billion in the 2024/2025 budget, reflecting a significant expansion in health-related expenditures.
