Cairo:Fatah official Osama Qaadan has commended Egypt's efforts to support the Palestinian cause, emphasizing the importance of developing a comprehensive national strategy to tackle challenges, end internal divisions, and bolster Palestinian unity amidst ongoing Israeli attacks. Qaadan made these remarks during an interview with Nile News Channel.

According to State Information Service Egypt, Qaadan highlighted Egypt's continuous efforts to unite Palestinian factions and promote reconciliation. He noted that Cairo's hosting of a meeting for Palestinian factions underscores Egypt's crucial role in backing the Palestinian cause.

Qaadan explained that the meeting aims to establish a unified Palestinian stance to aid in the implementation of de-escalation measures and finalize agreements concerning the Gaza Strip. This would help alleviate civilian suffering and facilitate the development of more sustainable solutions.

He further emphasized the necessity of national dialogue to restore unity among Palestinian factions and to create a comprehensive national program to confront Israeli policies in Gaza, the West Bank, and Al-Quds, including settler violence and attacks on Palestinians and their property.

Current Palestinian consultations are centered on seven points proposed by Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas. These points include adherence to the Palestine Liberation Organization's political program, recognition of its representation of the Palestinian people, addressing the effects of internal division, unifying political and security authorities, agreeing on elections, commitment to international legitimacy, and adopting peaceful popular resistance at this stage.
