Electricity Minister Highlights Dabaa Nuclear Plant as Central to Egypt’s Energy Future

Cairo: Electricity Minister Mahmoud Esmat emphasized that the Dabaa Nuclear Power Plant is pivotal to Egypt's sustainable, reliable, and high-capacity energy strategy.

According to State Information Service Egypt, Esmat made these remarks on Sunday, July 13th, 2025, during the inauguration of a specialized training and production complex dedicated to quality control and workforce development. He described the Dabaa nuclear plant as more than a mere construction project, but a national strategic initiative reflecting the country's vision for advanced technological infrastructure and the transfer of knowledge to Egyptian professionals.

The training complex spans over 5,000 square meters and has been developed in collaboration with Russia's Rosatom. It features full-scale simulators, mechanical-electrical workshops, and e-learning halls. The facility adheres to both Russian and Egyptian nuclear safety standards and is designed to train 20,000 workers across various phases, including construction, equipment installation, and operations.
