El Alamein International Airport Records Strong Growth Ahead of EIAS 2026

El alamein: El Alamein International Airport has recorded high growth as the government continues to modernize the country's civil aviation sector ahead of the second El Alamein International Air Show (EIAS 2026), scheduled for September.

According to State Information Service Egypt, in a report released by the Cabinet Media Center on Saturday, July 11, 2026, the airport's expansion supports the state's plans to establish New Alamein as an international destination for tourism and business while meeting rising demand for air travel.

The report added that the air show, organized in cooperation with the Ministry of Defense, the Egyptian Air Force, and the Egyptian Space Agency, is expected to strengthen international cooperation in the aviation and space sectors and create new investment opportunities.

Passenger traffic at El Alamein International Airport increased by 57% to 266,600 in 2026, compared with 169,500 in 2025. Flight movements also rose by 26%, reaching 3,190 flights, up from 2,540 a year earlier.

The airport currently serves 15 airlines, including Etihad Airways, flydubai, flynas, Air Cairo, and Saudia. Several international carriers have launched new services during the 2026 summer season, with the total number of airlines expected to increase to 26 by the end of the season.
