Egypt’s Remittances Hit Record $32.6 Billion After Economic Reforms

Cairo: Remittances from Egyptians working abroad surged to a record $32.6 billion in the 12 months through February 2025, marking a 72.4 percent increase year-on-year following economic reform measures introduced in March 2024, the Central Bank announced.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the $13.7 billion rise in inflows reflects growing confidence in Egypt's macroeconomic outlook and foreign exchange regime.

In February alone, remittances more than doubled to $3.0 billion, up from $1.3 billion a year earlier, marking the twelfth consecutive month of growth and the highest February figure on record.
