Cairo: Egypt’s public gardens and zoos across five governorates, along with the Aquarium Grotto Garden, welcomed approximately 38,446 visitors during the initial two days of Eid Al-Adha celebrations, as announced by the Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation.

According to State Information Service Egypt, Dr. Hamed Al-Aqsas, Chairman of the Public Authority for Veterinary Services, highlighted directives from Alaa Farouk, Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, to ensure the parks were well-prepared to receive citizens during the Eid holiday. The focus was on providing entertainment, cultural services, and ensuring comfort and safety for visitors.

The visitor count included 3,500 at the Aquarium Grotto Garden in Zamalek, 15,903 at the Alexandria Zoo, 9,233 at the Kafr El-Sheikh Zoo, 3,700 at the Fayoum Zoo, 3,400 at the Beni Suef Zoo, and 2,710 at the oriental zoo in Sharqia.

The Chairman of the General Authority for Veterinary Services noted that holidays were canceled for veterinarians and workers in these gardens. A plan was put in place to manage crowding at the gates, including increasing the number of entry points and allocating new outlets to facilitate smoother entry. The number of workers at the gates was also increased.

He further mentioned that these gardens are open to visitors from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with an entry ticket priced at 5 EGP.
