Egypt’s NFSA and Tahya Misr Fund Collaborate to Enhance Food Safety

Cairo: Egypt's National Food Safety Authority (NFSA) signed a cooperation protocol with the Tahya Misr Fund to strengthen food safety initiatives targeting vulnerable populations, the Cabinet said in a statement. The agreement is set to coordinate efforts in food monitoring, technical assistance, training, and awareness campaigns for both consumers and producers. Additionally, it aims to enhance food supply chains in underprivileged areas.

According to State Information Service Egypt, NFSA Chairman Tarek El-Houby emphasized that the partnership reflects the agency's commitment to improving collaboration with national institutions to support Egypt's food safety system. This initiative is aligned with Egypt's Vision 2030 and the UN Sustainable Development Goals, indicating a strategic approach towards national development and international standards.

Tamer Abdel-Fattah, executive director of the Tahya Misr Fund, stated that the protocol represents a strategic move to raise living standards by improving access to safe, nutritious food. The focus is on prevention and education, highlighting the importance of awareness and knowledge in achieving sustainable improvements in food security.
