Egypt’s FM Engages in Strategic Dialogue with Austrian Chancellor in Vienna

Cairo: Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty met Austrian Federal Chancellor Christian Stocker during his official visit to Vienna. During the talks, Abdelatty delivered a message from President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to Stocker and welcomed the continued progress in Egyptian-Austrian relations. He also called for closer political consultations and stronger cooperation on regional and international issues.

According to State Information Service Egypt, Stocker asked the minister to convey his greetings to President El-Sisi and praised Egypt's role in addressing regional crises, particularly its efforts to reduce tensions and support stability. He also expressed Austria's interest in expanding bilateral cooperation and maintaining close political coordination with Egypt.

The talks also addressed opportunities to increase Austrian investment in Egypt, particularly in the renewable energy and automotive industries, as well as cooperation on legal migration and on tackling illegal migration through a comprehensive approach. Additionally, Abdelatty congratulated Austria on its election as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council for the 2027-2029 term, expressing Egypt's interest in close coordination on regional and international issues.

The meeting concluded with discussions on the latest developments in Gaza, Lebanon, Sudan, and Libya, with both sides stressing the importance of supporting security, stability, sovereignty, and territorial integrity across the region.
