Cairo:Finance Minister Ahmed Kouchouk emphasized on Monday, November 2, 2026, that fostering investment across various sectors is a primary focus for the ministry, as it seeks to establish a genuine partnership with the business community.
According to State Information Service Egypt, during a meeting with the chairman and members of the Egyptian Private Equity and Venture Capital Association (EPEA), Kouchouk noted the private sector's robust response to economic and financial reforms, contributing to 65% of investments. He also stressed the ministry's commitment to initiatives that enhance the competitiveness of the Egyptian economy and promote growth.
Kouchouk highlighted the ministry's balanced and flexible policy approach, which supports fiscal discipline and stability while promoting economic activity through attractive incentives. He mentioned that maintaining fiscal surpluses aids in reducing debt and the deficit, thereby increasing the government's capacity for social spending. The minister further pointed out that tax facilitation measures have been successful due to their origin in the tax community, and the ministry plans to continue simplifying and supporting these measures.
Tax revenues have seen significant growth over the past two years as the tax base expanded, without changes to tax rates. Kouchouk also introduced a real estate tax mobile application aimed at simplifying and improving services for citizens.
EPEA Chairman Ayman Soliman commended the finance minister's efforts in creating an investment-friendly environment that builds confidence and partnerships with investors. He emphasized the need for regular communication with government agencies and the formation of joint working groups to address challenges and develop solutions that promote investment and economic growth. Soliman also noted that encouraging real estate investment funds could enhance the Egyptian Exchange's standing and attract long-term institutional and international capital, with financial incentives playing a crucial role in attracting global pension funds.
