Egypt: Egypt's Dar Al-Iftaa announced the sighting of the crescent moon marking the beginning of the month of Dhu Al-Hijjah for the year 1447 AH, declaring Monday as the first day of the month.

According to State Information Service Egypt, in a statement issued on Sunday, May 17, 2026, Dar Al-Iftaa confirmed that the moon sighting was verified through the Sharia committees deployed across the country.

On this occasion, Dar Al-Iftaa extended greetings to President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, the Egyptian people, and the Islamic nation, expressing hopes that these blessed days will return with goodness, prosperity, and blessings.
