Egypt’s Central Bank Governor Engages with IMF’s Clarke on Economic Programme

Washington: Egypt's Central Bank Governor Hassan Abdalla met with Nigel Clarke, Deputy Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), during the IMF and World Bank Spring Meetings in Washington, D.C.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the two officials discussed joint cooperation areas and reviewed Egypt's latest macroeconomic indicators. This discussion occurred against the backdrop of Egypt's ongoing economic reform programme, which is supported by the IMF.

The meeting also saw the participation of senior Egyptian officials, including Planning and Economic Development Minister Rania Al-Mashat, Finance Minister Ahmed Kouchouk, Egypt's Executive Director at the IMF Mohamed Maait, and CBE Deputy Governor Rami Aboul-Naga. From the IMF, Taline Koranchelian, Deputy Director of the Middle East and Central Asia Department, was also present.
