Cairo: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued a call to Egyptian communities abroad, urging them to comply with the laws of their host countries, particularly when posting videos on social media that request consular assistance or highlight issues faced by Egyptians. These posts, if found to critique foreign authorities or institutions, may lead to legal repercussions in many nations.
According to State Information Service Egypt, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Egyptian Expatriates' Affairs recommends that Egyptians in need of consular support reach out directly to the nearest Egyptian diplomatic mission. This can be accomplished through in-person visits or by using the designated WhatsApp hotlines provided by each mission and shared on official social media platforms. Additionally, a central consular hotline operated by the Consular Sector of the Ministry is available for those seeking assistance.
