Tokyo: Egypt's Ambassador to Japan, Ragy El-Etreby, emphasized the importance of the embassy's concerted efforts with members of the Egyptian community to strengthen the strategic partnership between the two countries in various fields, particularly in education, technology, and artificial intelligence. This came during a meeting held at the embassy with a group of prominent figures and members of the Egyptian community in Japan. El-Etreby expressed his appreciation for the distinguished and honorable role they play in representing Egypt in various vital fields in Japan.According to State Information Service Egypt, El-Etreby noted the embassy's commitment, on behalf of all government agencies, to providing all necessary facilities for Egyptian citizens to complete their consular transactions with ease and to overcome any obstacles they may face in obtaining consular services, especially for those residing outside the capital, Tokyo. He also emphasized the embassy's swift response to any inquiries received b y the consular section, in addition to its 24/7 assistance in any emergency situations through designated communication channels, including the LINE app-the most widely used app in Japan.The Egyptian Ambassador also expressed the Embassy's welcome to any initiatives or proposals that could contribute to developing this partnership to broader horizons and achieving mutual benefit for both countries. Ambassador El-Etreby reviewed the initiatives launched by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Immigration, and Egyptian Expatriates Affairs, including those announced following the Egyptians Abroad Conference in August 2025, such as "Your Home in Egypt," "Open Your Account in Egypt," "Your Farm in Egypt," "Your Insurance in Egypt," and "Your School in Egypt." These initiatives primarily aim to strengthen the relationship between Egyptians abroad and their homeland.The meeting witnessed discussions and an exchange of views on several topics and proposals, including strengthening communication and interaction framew orks among members of the Egyptian community in Japan. They also discussed ways to maximize the benefit of Egyptians from initiatives targeting Egyptians abroad. Additionally, several ideas were presented that would enhance Egyptian-Japanese bilateral cooperation in priority areas, including attracting investment, tourism, and education.
