Egyptian Ambassador and Romanian Presidential Advisers Discuss Strengthening Bilateral Ties

Cairo: Ambassador Moayad Eldolai, Egypt's Ambassador to Romania, held a meeting with Ana Birchall, Presidential Adviser for the Implementation of Strategic Partnerships, and Luminita Odobescu, a former Foreign Minister and current Presidential Adviser. The discussions focused on enhancing bilateral cooperation between Egypt and Romania.According to State Information Service Egypt, the Romanian side reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening Egyptian-Romanian relations and expressed belief in broader prospects for advancing cooperation, particularly in the fields of culture, education, and tourism. They commended Egypt's assistance in evacuating Romanian nationals from Israel through Egyptian territory amid recent escalations, as well as Egypt's regional role and mediation efforts to secure a ceasefire in Gaza. Additionally, they acknowledged Egypt's broader endeavors to promote stability across the region.The Romanian advisers reiterated their country's longstanding support for the two-state solution to t he Palestinian issue. They also expressed enthusiasm for Romania's participation as Guest of Honor at the 2026 Cairo International Book Fair, which will coincide with the 120th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Egypt and Romania.
