EgyptAir Launches Direct Flights Connecting Cairo and Zanzibar

Cairo: EgyptAir has launched direct flights from Cairo to Zanzibar, Tanzania, as the Egyptian flag carrier continues to expand its network across Africa. The airline will operate two flights a week on Fridays and Sundays using Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft.

According to State Information Service Egypt, EgyptAir Airlines Chairman Mohamed Alyan revealed that the inaugural flight recorded a load factor of more than 90%. The airline has also introduced promotional fares in economy and business class for the new route.

EgyptAir Holding Company Chairman Ahmed Adel stated that the service is part of the airline's plans to add more destinations across Africa and provide passengers with additional travel options. Adel emphasized that the new route is a strategic move to enhance connectivity within the continent.

The new route provides a direct connection between Cairo and Zanzibar, one of East Africa's major tourist destinations. This connection is expected to support travel and tourism between Egypt and Tanzania, opening up new opportunities for both business and leisure travelers.
