EgyptAir Expands Route Network with New Direct Flights to Zanzibar and Birmingham

Cairo: EgyptAir announced the launch of direct flights to Zanzibar in Tanzania and Birmingham in the UK as part of its plans to expand its international route network. The national carrier will begin operating direct flights between Cairo and Zanzibar on September 4, 2026, with two weekly flights on Fridays and Sundays using Boeing 737-800 aircraft.

According to State Information Service Egypt, EgyptAir will also launch direct flights between Cairo and Birmingham on October 27, 2026, with four weekly services on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays using Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft. Birmingham will become EgyptAir's third destination in the United Kingdom after London and Manchester.

The new routes are part of the airline's efforts to expand connectivity with major tourism and business destinations across Africa and Europe while offering passengers more travel options.
