Egypt Unveils National Narrative for Economic Development to Boost Investment

Cairo: Egypt will launch its new National Narrative for Economic Development on Sept. 7, Planning Minister Rania Al-Mashat announced, outlining a framework aimed at reinforcing reforms, attracting investment, and expanding the role of the private sector.According to State Information Service Egypt, the plan, reviewed at the weekly Cabinet meeting, is built around five pillars: macroeconomic stability, foreign direct investment, industrial development and trade, labor market flexibility, and regional planning to localize growth. Al-Mashat emphasized that the framework was developed in coordination with various ministries and agencies to align Egypt's Vision 2030 strategy with the current governmental program amidst regional and global economic challenges.The narrative aims to create an economic model focused on tradable and export-driven sectors, while redefining the role of the state to enhance competitiveness. It translates reform priorities into quantitative targets within a macroeconomic outlook throug h 2030.Cabinet officials revealed that the framework will be subjected to public debate over the next two months. Specialized sessions will be organized to bring together experts and stakeholders to review its objectives, ensuring transparency and inclusiveness in shaping the country's economic future.
