Cairo: Minister of Youth and Sports Gohar Nabil said Egypt's partnership with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) sets a successful model of cooperation with UN bodies. The minister made the remarks during a meeting on Thursday, February 26, 2026, with UNFPA Representative in Egypt Yves Sassenrath, at the end of his tenure in Cairo.According to State Information Service Egypt, the ministry's collaboration with UNFPA aligns with Egypt's national priorities as well as the goals of Egypt Vision 2030, especially those related to empowering girls, enhancing youth participation, and building youth capacity across various governorates. Nabil expressed gratitude to Sassenrath for his efforts during his term in Egypt, highlighting the ministry's fruitful and constructive cooperation with the UN agency.During the meeting, Nabil discussed several key joint initiatives implemented recently, including the Population Awareness Clubs (PACs) at youth centers, cooperation within the framework of the National Strate gy for Youth and Sports, and support for the National Youth and Climate Committee. He emphasized the ministry's commitment to strengthening cooperation with the UNFPA to build on these positive results, thanking the outgoing UNFPA representative for his professionalism and continuous coordination.The minister also acknowledged the Fund's role in supporting Egypt's sustainable development and youth empowerment efforts. Meanwhile, Sassenrath expressed his gratitude to the minister and the ministry's officials for their cooperation and continuous support during his time in Egypt.
