Cairo: Egypt welcomed on Sunday, July 20, 2025, the signing of the Declaration of Principles between the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and the Congo River Alliance - March 23 Movement in Doha, Qatar.According to State Information Service Egypt, in a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates, Egypt expressed hope that the declaration will be a constructive step towards achieving lasting comprehensive peace in eastern DRC. The statement also emphasized the potential for the agreement to improve humanitarian and living conditions in the country and to strengthen peace and security foundations on a regional scale.Egypt acknowledged the contributions of Qatar and the US in facilitating the dialogue between the two parties, as noted in the statement. The country reiterated its unwavering support for all regional and international efforts aimed at achieving security, stability, and development across the African continent, underscoring the importance of respect ing the sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity of states and resolving conflicts through peaceful means.
