Egypt Secures Historic World Cup Advancement with Draw Against Iran

Cairo: Egypt was held to a 1-1 draw by Iran in their final Group G fixture at Lumen Field in Seattle on Saturday, securing their first-ever qualification for the Round of 32 since their World Cup debut in 1934.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the Pharaohs had already ensured their advancement to the knockout stage before the match, but the game was not free of tension. In a dramatic turn, Iran's injury-time goal was disallowed after a VAR review, allowing Egypt to finish second in their group. Belgium topped the group due to a superior goal difference.

The Egyptian team is now set to face Australia on Friday in Dallas, marking a significant achievement in their World Cup journey.
