Egypt Secures 4-0 Victory Over Saudi Arabia in World Cup Warm-Up


Cairo: Egypt’s national football team secured a dominant 4-0 victory over Saudi Arabia in a friendly match at Al-Inma Stadium on Friday, serving as key preparation for the 2026 World Cup.



According to State Information Service Egypt, the Pharaohs netted three goals in the first half through Islam Issa in the 4th minute, Mahmoud Hassan Trezeguet in the 16th minute, and Ahmed Sayed Zizo in the 44th minute. Omar Marmoush added the fourth goal in the 56th minute, sealing the emphatic win.



Head coach Hossam Hassan started with Mostafa Shobeir in goal, supported by a defense comprising Ahmed Fatouh, Hamdi Fathi, Yasser Ibrahim, and Mohamed Hany. The midfield included Marwan Attia, Imam Ashour, Trezeguet, and Islam Issa, who provided support for Marmoush upfront.



In the second half, 11 substitutions were made, including Mohamed El Shenawy, Ramy Rabia, and Mostafa Mohamed, to give the squad rotation and experience. The team is now preparing for another friendly against Spain this Tuesday in Barcelona.
