Cairo: The Egyptian National Railways has successfully launched its seventh train trip dedicated to the voluntary return of Sudanese nationals residing in Egypt. This initiative is in line with directives from Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Industry and Transport, Kamel El Wazir, aimed at providing comprehensive support to returning citizens.
According to State Information Service Egypt, Train No. 1940 left Cairo Station at 11:00 am on Sunday, August 24, 2025. The train is carrying hundreds of Sudanese families and is expected to arrive at the High Dam river port at 11:30 pm. From there, the passengers will continue their journey back to Sudan.
The return journey of the same train, designated as No. 1945, is scheduled to depart from Aswan to Cairo at 8:20 pm on Monday, August 25. This service is designed to accommodate passengers traveling back to the Egyptian capital.
