Cairo: Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Mohamed Farid announced a partnership with Dubai Ports (DP) World aimed at expanding Egyptian exports, particularly to African markets, by linking Egyptian products to the company's global logistics network.

According to State Information Service Egypt, these remarks were made during the minister's meeting with a DP World delegation led by Mohammad Shehab, Chief Executive Officer for Egypt and the Levant. The meeting was attended by representatives of the General Authority for Investment, the Export Development Authority, the Export Development Fund, the Commercial Representation Authority, and export councils.

The minister stated that the partnership is part of efforts to improve Egypt's foreign trade system, reduce logistics costs, and increase the competitiveness of Egyptian products in international markets. He mentioned that the ministry and DP World will work together to connect export councils with logistics services tailored to each sector and develop new trade routes for Egyptian goods.

Mohammad Shehab noted that DP World's international logistics network offers significant opportunities to expand Egyptian exports, particularly across Africa. He highlighted Egypt's strategic importance to the company and emphasized that the development of Ain Sokhna Port and its logistics zone will enhance the country's position as a regional hub for trade and supply chains.

The two sides agreed to hold technical meetings with export councils to develop practical measures that will facilitate exports, reduce market access costs, and support Egypt's export growth targets.
