Cairo: Mohamed Awad, CEO of the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI), participated in a meeting with Minister of Planning and Economic Development Ahmed Rostom and several fintech entrepreneurs and companies to discuss expansion and investment opportunities in Egypt. The meeting reviewed developments in Egypt's investment climate and opportunities in technology, innovation, and digital financial services. Rostom stated that the state is implementing a clear strategy to support entrepreneurship and address the operational and financing challenges facing startups.
According to State Information Service Egypt, Awad described fintech as a promising sector as Egypt aims to strengthen its digital economy and support innovation and entrepreneurship. He emphasized GAFI's commitment to supporting investors and entrepreneurs and helping address the challenges they face, while promoting Egypt's investment incentives and opportunities. The participating entrepreneurs expressed interest in Egypt's investment opportunities and incentives for fintech companies and shared their plans for expansion and investment in the Egyptian market.
