Cairo: Investment and Foreign Trade Minister Mohamed Farid Saleh engaged in discussions with French Ambassador to Cairo Eric Chevallier on strategies to enhance French investments in Egypt and deepen economic partnerships between the two nations. The meeting, which took place on Monday, September 21, 2026, also focused on the current status of French companies operating within the Egyptian market and preparations for the upcoming Egyptian Investment Forum in France.
According to State Information Service Egypt, the discussions were attended by Pascal Forth, Economic Counselor at the French Embassy, and occurred alongside Minister Farid's field tour of factories operated by French companies in 10th of Ramadan City, such as ECPC for Prestressed Concrete and a L'Or©al factory. Minister Farid emphasized the robust economic and investment ties between Egypt and France, underscoring the significance of French investments across various sectors.
Minister Farid also reiterated the Egyptian government's commitment to maintaining open dialogue with the French business community, supporting the expansion of current enterprises, and attracting new investments. The dialogue addressed the status of existing French investments and the challenges they face, with discussions on collaborative measures to mitigate these issues, thus supporting expansion plans and increasing production capacities.
The meeting further explored the organizational aspects of the Egyptian Investment Forum in France, focusing on the forum's themes, priority sectors, and target companies and investors. These discussions aim to highlight investment opportunities in Egypt to the French business community.
Minister Farid highlighted the ministry's efforts to streamline investment procedures and address operational challenges faced by companies, thereby enhancing the investment climate in Egypt.
