Egypt Finance Minister Highlights Renewed Global Investor Confidence in Economy

Egypt: Finance Minister Ahmed Kouchouk on Sunday, August 23, 2026, said global investors have renewed their confidence in Egypt's economic trajectory, with investment risk assessments falling to their lowest level since 2014. 'Our economy has started to improve, while the private sector is growing and accounts for 60% of investments,' Kouchouk said at a meeting with Egyptian diplomats abroad.

According to State Information Service Egypt, Kouchouk emphasized that strong activity in sectors such as industry, telecommunications, information technology, and tourism is contributing to economic growth. The government is actively working to stimulate investment, reduce debt, and expand tax and customs incentives. He noted that Egypt is aiming to broaden its productive, industrial, and export base to enhance the economy's competitiveness and attract more investment.

Kouchouk reiterated that global investors have renewed their confidence in Egypt's economic path and called on Egyptian diplomats to further drive investment inflows. He also highlighted Egypt's potential to increase services exports, supported by a young workforce capable of competing in global markets.
