Cairo: Foreign Minister Badr Abdel-Aati received Charles Fries, Deputy Secretary General of the European External Action Service for Peace, Security and Defense, on Tuesday, March 31, 2026. The meeting came as part of regular coordination between Egypt and the European Union and a shared desire to strengthen cooperation.

According to State Information Service Egypt, Abdel-Aati praised the momentum in Egypt-EU relations, stressing the importance of advancing economic, trade, and investment ties under the comprehensive strategic partnership. He highlighted Egypt's efforts to support regional security and stability, pointing to intensive contacts aimed at de-escalation and promoting diplomacy as the only path to avoid further instability.
