Egypt Engages in High-Level Diplomatic Talks with Turkey, Pakistan, Qatar, and Bahrain to Address Regional Tensions

Cairo: Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty held significant phone discussions on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, with his counterparts from Turkey, Pakistan, Qatar, and Bahrain. This initiative aligns with President Abdel Fattah El Sisi's directives to mitigate escalating tensions in the region.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the discussions were centered around the rapidly evolving developments in the region and the coordination of joint efforts to de-escalate potential conflicts. The ministers involved emphasized the necessity of persisting and intensifying diplomatic endeavors to manage the critical situation effectively.

The Egyptian foreign minister highlighted the dangers posed by any further escalation, which could threaten both regional and international peace and security. He asserted that prioritizing calm, diplomacy, and dialogue is essential to prevent the region from descending into widespread chaos.

Additionally, the discussions revisited the outcomes of a recent quadrilateral ministerial meeting held in Islamabad, Pakistan. The ministers exchanged views on ongoing efforts to halt hostilities and reduce escalation, ensuring the sustainability of regional and international initiatives aimed at establishing lasting stability in the region.
