Cairo: Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly has announced that Thursday, January 29, will be a paid public holiday. This decision applies to employees across ministries, government agencies, public authorities, local administration units, public sector companies, state-owned business sector companies, and the private sector. The holiday is set to commemorate the January 25 Revolution and Police Day, as per a statement issued by the Cabinet.
According to State Information Service Egypt, this holiday will replace the observance originally scheduled for Sunday, January 25. Despite the holiday, the statement emphasizes that any school and university examinations will proceed as planned, adhering to the timetables established by the relevant authorities.
