Egypt Condemns Israeli Minister’s Incursion into Al Aqsa Mosque

Jerusalem:Cairo Egypt has strongly condemned the incursion by Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, who was accompanied by hundreds of Jewish settlers, into the courtyards of the Al Aqsa Mosque compound under the protection of Israeli police.

According to State Information Service Egypt, a statement issued by Egypt's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptian Expatriates on Monday emphasized the country's categorical rejection of these provocative practices. The statement described the actions as a flagrant violation of the sanctity of Islamic holy sites and the existing historical and legal status quo in occupied East Jerusalem.

Egypt warned that the continuation of such violations could exacerbate tensions and threaten regional stability. The country reiterated its rejection of any attempts to alter the status quo at Al Aqsa Mosque or divide the site temporally or spatially.

The statement called on the international community to fulfill its responsibilities to halt these practices and ensure respect for relevant international legitimacy resolutions.
