Egypt Collaborates with World Bank to Enhance Mining Sector’s GDP Contribution

Cairo:According to State Information Service Egypt, the meeting focused on strengthening cooperation to develop Egypt's mining sector. The aim is to attract private investment and increase the value generated from the country's mineral resources.

Minister Rostom stated that Egypt is implementing policies to enable the private sector to utilize untapped natural resources, with the goal of attracting both domestic and foreign investment. These efforts are expected to increase the added value of minerals and create jobs, contributing to sustainable economic development.

Thapar highlighted structural reforms by the Egyptian government in the mining sector. She noted that the World Bank is aiming to deepen cooperation with Egypt through technical assistance, capacity-building programs, and support for preparing an integrated roadmap that covers mineral-resource development and related supply chains.
