Guangzhou: The Egyptian delegation at the 20th China International Small and Medium Enterprises Fair (CISMEF 2025) in Guangzhou engaged in high-level meetings with Chinese officials to discuss increased cooperation, an official statement said.
According to State Information Service Egypt, Minister Plenipotentiary for Trade Essam El-Naggar and other Egyptian officials met with Chinese counterparts, including Minister of Industry Li Lecheng and Vice Governor of Guangdong Wang Sheng, to discuss trade and industry cooperation. The discussions focused on leveraging China's experience in supporting SMEs, expanding mutual participation in specialised trade fairs, and enhancing institutional cooperation.
The Egyptian delegation extended an invitation for Chinese participation in the upcoming edition of the Cairo International Fair. Both sides agreed to appoint designated contact points to follow up on the agreed areas of cooperation. This includes a proposal to sign a memorandum of understanding for collaboration on SME development and joint exhibitions. Egypt's commercial office at its embassy in Beijing will handle follow-up from the Egyptian side.
