Egypt and World Bank Discuss Enhancing Healthcare Collaboration

Cairo: Egypt's Health Minister Khaled Abdel Ghaffar met with World Bank Executive Director for Egypt Abdulaziz Al Mulla to discuss joint programmes and support for the country's health sector, as announced by the ministry. The meeting aimed at exploring avenues to bolster the healthcare cooperation between Egypt and the World Bank.

According to State Information Service Egypt, Abdel Ghaffar acknowledged the World Bank's contributions to Egypt's healthcare system, highlighting its support for the universal health insurance scheme and efforts to foster investment in human capital. The discussions emphasized the importance of strengthening public-private partnerships, enhancing family planning initiatives, upgrading primary healthcare units, and providing training for medical staff to improve service delivery.
