Cairo: Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Karim Badawi and General Manager of France's TotalEnergies in Egypt and Cyprus Pascal Breant have held a meeting to discuss ways to enhance existing cooperation and partnership in the natural gas sector. The focus of the meeting was on the project that aims to connect the Cypriot Cronos gas field to Egyptian infrastructure, in collaboration with Italy's Eni.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the discussions included updates on the collaboration between Egypt, Cyprus, and partner companies involved in the project. The parties reviewed the steps necessary to begin implementing the regional gas transport initiative. This project is seen as a model for integrating gas resources and infrastructure, aiming to strengthen Egypt's role as a regional hub for gas trade and distribution.
