Egypt and Republic of Korea Explore Economic Cooperation Opportunities

Cairo: Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Mohamed Farid Saleh highlighted numerous opportunities for enhancing economic cooperation between Egypt and the Republic of Korea, focusing on investment, industry, start-ups, and venture capital. This was discussed during a meeting with the charg© d'affaires of the Republic of Korea's embassy in Cairo, where both parties explored expanding collaboration in trade, investment, and industry.

According to State Information Service Egypt, Farid emphasized the Egyptian government's efforts to transform proposed cooperation areas into practical investment opportunities and projects. The objective is to boost bilateral trade and increase exports, particularly in sectors aimed at deepening local manufacturing. Both countries are also exploring collaboration in technology, innovation, and trade promotion, leveraging the Republic of Korea's experience in export development.

The minister announced that Egypt and the Republic of Korea are advancing towards launching negotiations this year on a comprehensive economic partnership agreement, which is anticipated to enhance investment flows and bilateral trade. Meanwhile, the Korean diplomat stressed the importance of strengthening economic cooperation with Egypt, pointing out that Korean companies are eager to expand their investments in the Egyptian market, especially in industrial and technological sectors.
