Egypt and Qatar Announce Progress in Complex Negotiations

Cairo: Egypt and Qatar announced progress in their ongoing negotiations, emphasizing that suspending dialogue temporarily is a normal occurrence in complex discussions. In a joint statement released by the Egyptian Foreign Ministry, the two nations explained that the pause was necessary to hold consultations and assess the situation. The latest round of negotiations spanned three weeks and yielded significant advances.

According to State Information Service Egypt, both Cairo and Doha urged international media to adhere to journalistic ethics and focus on the intense suffering in Gaza. They discouraged media outlets from undermining efforts to end the ongoing conflict in the region by spreading unfounded leaks. The statement criticized certain reports that attempt to diminish mediation efforts, asserting that these leaks are disseminated by parties lacking insight into the negotiation process and do not accurately represent the current status.

Both countries reiterated their commitment to achieving a ceasefire agreement, in collaboration with the United States, as they continue to work towards a resolution.
