Egypt and Kazakhstan Address Regional Military Tensions

Cairo: Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty discussed, in a phone call with Kazakh Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Murat Nurtleu, the escalating military situation in the region and its serious implications on regional security and stability.

According to State Information Service Egypt, during the call, Abdelatty reviewed the dangerous developments unfolding in the region, highlighting their political, security, and economic repercussions. He stressed the urgent need to de-escalate tensions and prioritize diplomatic solutions to prevent the conflict from expanding and to avoid further instability across the region.

Abdelatty asserted that continued military escalation will only worsen the situation, underscoring the importance of respecting state sovereignty, adhering to the principles of good neighborliness, and exercising restraint. He also reiterated Egypt's firm rejection of the unacceptable and unjustified attacks on sister Arab states, affirming Egypt's full support for their sovereignty, security, stability, and territorial integrity.

For his part, the Kazakh foreign minister expressed his country's deep concern over the evolving situation in the region, praising Egypt's pivotal role in promoting de-escalation and supporting diplomatic solutions. He further noted that Kazakhstan has not made any changes to its air travel operations or travel advisories for citizens heading to Egypt, stressing that Egypt remains a safe destination for Kazakh citizens despite the ongoing regional developments and heightened tensions.
