Cairo: Minister of Industry and Transport Kamel El-Wazir has discussed with Japan's Ambassador to Egypt Fumio Iwai the status of joint projects and future cooperation in areas of transport and industry. During the meeting, Wazir highlighted the strength of relations between the Egyptian and Japanese political leaderships and friendly peoples, praising cooperation between the two sides in implementing several projects in the transportation sector, the transport ministry said in a statement on Monday.According to State Information Service Egypt, the Japanese ambassador praised fruitful cooperation between the two sides to implement a number of projects, such as the first phase of the Greater Cairo Metro Line 4. He noted that Japanese companies are showing great interest in investing in Egypt, especially given the promising investment climate in the country.The two sides discussed fostering cooperation between Elaraby Group factories and Japanese companies in the home appliances sector. Minister Wazir expres sed his aspiration to further expand bilateral cooperation in the fields of transportation and industry, which could potentially lead to more joint ventures and projects in the future.
