Egypt and India Discuss Strengthening Economic Partnerships

Cairo: Industry Minister Khaled Hashem met with Indian Ambassador to Egypt Suresh K. Reddy to discuss the enhancement of industrial cooperation and the influx of Indian investments into Egypt.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the meeting addressed the minister's participation in the BRICS Industry Ministers Meeting held in Jaipur and the upcoming visit of the Indian Industry Minister to Cairo in November. This forthcoming visit is expected to feature an Egyptian-Indian business forum and a tour of the Suez Canal Economic Zone.

Minister Hashem emphasized the growing momentum in economic relations between Egypt and India. He expressed a warm welcome to increased Indian investment and the formation of partnerships with Egyptian companies, which would cater to the local market and boost exports to Europe, Africa, and Arab nations. Additionally, Hashem underscored Egypt's interest in leveraging India's expertise in industrial policy and regulatory reforms as part of the government's efforts to simplify procedures and enhance the investment climate.

Ambassador Reddy highlighted Indian companies' view of Egypt as a promising investment hub and a strategic center for manufacturing and exports. He reiterated India's dedication to intensifying industrial cooperation between the two countries, marking a significant step forward in their bilateral economic ties.
