Cairo: Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Industry and Transport, Kamel El-Wazir, met with Gambia's new Minister of Defense, Baboucarr Ousmaila Joof, to discuss potential collaborations in transportation, industry, and infrastructure. The meeting, held on Thursday, was attended by Gambian business leaders and senior officials from Egypt's Ministry of Transport.According to State Information Service Egypt, Minister El-Wazir emphasized the strong ties between Egypt and Gambia, expressing a commitment to fostering cooperation with African nations. He reiterated President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi's directives to enhance regional connectivity and urban development, ensuring swift implementation of integration efforts with African states.Minister Joof conveyed President Adama Barrow's regards to President El-Sisi and highlighted Gambia's interest in leveraging Egyptian expertise for infrastructure and industrial projects. He acknowledged the proficiency of Egyptian companies in managin g large-scale projects. Both ministers agreed to hold further discussions to devise a joint action plan aimed at strengthening collaboration in transport, infrastructure, and industrial development.
