Egypt and Chad Strengthen Ties at Alamein Africa Forum

Alamein:Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty met with newly appointed Chadian Foreign Minister Ahmed Kogouri to discuss enhancing bilateral relations and cooperation between Egypt and Chad at the Alamein Africa Forum.

According to State Information Service Egypt, Abdelatty congratulated Kogouri on his new role and expressed eagerness to continue coordination and consultations to advance mutual interests, highlighting the historic ties between the two nations.

The discussions emphasized the importance of implementing directives from President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and Chadian President Mahamat Idriss Deby to strengthen bilateral relations. They also reviewed the outcomes of the fourth session of the Egyptian-Chadian Joint Committee, focusing on agreements and projects previously agreed upon.

The ministers exchanged views on promoting peace, security, and development across Africa and agreed to enhance coordination at both bilateral and multilateral levels to support stability and development on the continent.

The meeting concluded with the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the Egyptian Drug Authority and the Chadian Ministry of Health, focusing on pharmaceutical and biological products and medical supplies, witnessed by Minister of Health Khaled Abdel Ghaffar.
