Cairo: Minister of State for Military Production Mohamed Salah El-Din has engaged in discussions with Bulgarian Minister of Economy and Industry Peter Dilov to explore ways to enhance cooperation between Egypt and Bulgaria. This meeting took place on the sidelines of the first day of the fourth edition of the International Defense Exhibition "EDEX 2025," which commenced on December 1, 2025, in Cairo, under the auspices of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi.
According to State Information Service Egypt, Minister Mohamed Salah El-Din emphasized the significance of fortifying the strategic partnership between Egypt and Bulgaria in various domains to serve the mutual interests of both nations. He highlighted the role of his ministry in fulfilling the requirements of the Armed Forces and the police with advanced weapons, ammunition, equipment, and electronic systems. He also noted that surplus production is being used to manufacture a range of civilian products and contribute to national and developmental projects across Egypt.
The minister also showcased the latest military products from the ministry at the exhibition. Salah El-Din expressed the Ministry of Military Production's openness to collaborating with international companies to localize modern manufacturing technologies in Egypt. This initiative is part of the State's plan to optimize national industrial, technological, and technical capabilities for sustainable development.
Bulgarian Minister of Economy and Industry Peter Dilov remarked that the Bulgarian-Egyptian relationship, historically characterized by diversity, has seen continued development across all fields in recent years. He emphasized the shared commitment of both countries to advance cooperation in various industrial and economic sectors.
Dilov further noted the significant opportunities for enhanced cooperation in both military and civilian manufacturing, considering the substantial economic capabilities of both nations. He expressed optimism that this meeting would play a pivotal role in opening new avenues for collaboration between the Military Production Ministry's companies and Bulgarian firms in related fields. Dilov praised the wide array of modern military products displayed at the Ministry of Military Production's pavilion at EDEX 2025, highlighting the participation of nine Bulgarian companies in this year's exhibition, which is highly regarded among specialized global defense industry shows.
