Egypt and Bulgaria Aim to Strengthen Economic Cooperation at Cairo Business Forum

Cairo: Minister of Supply and Internal Trade Sherif Farouk participated in the Egyptian-Bulgarian Business Forum held in Cairo, alongside Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Industry and Transport Kamel El Wazir, Bulgarian Foreign Minister Georgi Georgiev, and Federation of Egyptian Chambers of Commerce head Ahmed El-Wakil.

According to State Information Service Egypt, Farouk highlighted the growing momentum in Egypt-Bulgaria relations, driven by shared visions and common aspirations of both countries' leaderships. He emphasized the pivotal role of his ministry in ensuring food security and social stability, noting the ongoing efforts to engage with international partners. Farouk praised Bulgaria's support in supplying wheat to Egypt during times of global market disruptions.

He stressed the importance of the forum in facilitating direct meetings between business leaders from both countries, which could lead to new investment partnerships in agriculture, industry, energy, technology, and defence. Farouk added that the ministry welcomes strategic investments in modernizing Egypt's commercial infrastructure, particularly in strategic storage facilities, logistics zones, and model markets.

Farouk also called for stronger cooperation to enhance economic resilience and secure supply chains amid ongoing global challenges.
