ECS Reviews Its Role in Boosting Exports and Attracting Foreign Investment

Cairo: As part of the state's efforts to enhance exports and empower youth, Minister Plenipotentiary Dr. Abdel Aziz El-Sherif, First Undersecretary and Head of the Egyptian Commercial Service (ECS), delivered an introductory lecture on the missions and objectives of the ECS. The session focused on strategies to achieve the Egyptian government's target of reaching $145 billion in exports and promoting foreign investment in the state's priority sectors.According to State Information Service Egypt, the lecture was held during the fourth edition of the Youth Diplomacy Program, a specialized initiative organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports at the Olympic Center in Maadi. The program aims to empower young people, refine their leadership skills, and prepare a conscious generation capable of actively participating in national development while honorably representing Egypt in regional and international forums.During the lecture, Dr. Abdel Aziz El-Sherif highlighted the pivotal role of the Egyptian Commerci al Service (ECS) in opening foreign markets, enhancing the competitiveness of Egyptian products, attracting investments, and building partnerships with the international business community. These efforts contribute to achieving the state's economic objectives and increasing export rates.He affirmed the ECS's readiness to coordinate with the Youth Diplomacy Program and the Ministry of Youth and Sports. He announced that the ECS will welcome a number of the program's distinguished cadres for practical training within the international commercial diplomatic corps. This training will take place at the ECS headquarters in the New Administrative Capital, aiming to bolster their practical expertise and qualify them for effective engagement in diplomatic and economic fields.This cooperation reflects the state's belief in the importance of investing in human and the role of youth as key partners in achieving sustainable development and supporting Egypt's economic standing on the international stage.The lecture w as attended by several key figures from the Egyptian Commercial Service, including: Minister Plenipotentiary Walid El-Zomor, Director of the Africa Affairs Department, Minister Plenipotentiary Alaa El-Beily, Director of the Investment Affairs Department, Commercial Counselor Mohamed Helmy, Director of the Development, Media, and Corporate Communication Unit.
