Digital Platform for Land Allocation and Investor Services Set to Launch in Egypt

Cairo: Tenth of Ramadan City Minister of Industry Khaled Hashem announced plans to introduce an integrated digital platform dedicated to investors, accompanied by a new system for allocating industrial land, set to roll out in August. This initiative is part of a broader strategy to facilitate industrial investment, bolster local manufacturing, and enhance the competitiveness of Egyptian products.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the announcement was made during a comprehensive meeting with members of the Tenth of Ramadan Investors Association, led by Samir Aref. This meeting marked the commencement of the minister's inspection tour of the industrial zone in Tenth of Ramadan City. Hashem highlighted that the digital platform aims to connect small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), offering locally manufactured alternatives to production inputs and reducing dependency on imports.

The platform is set to feature a system that evaluates product quality and ensures suppliers adhere to delivery schedules, thereby improving the efficiency of domestic supply chains. Additionally, a new, more flexible industrial land allocation system will be implemented on August 1, easing the financial burden on investors, particularly SMEs, allowing them to allocate more resources toward machinery and production rather than land acquisition.

The minister emphasized the ministry's dedication to addressing manufacturers' concerns and collaborating with Sharqiya Governorate to overcome challenges, thereby enhancing the investment climate and supporting the industrial development in Tenth of Ramadan City. He also addressed the issue of unlicensed factories, reinforcing that the government will intensify oversight of industrial zones and integrate informal manufacturing facilities into the formal economy.

Hashem assured that legitimate manufacturers would receive support to legalize their status, while stringent measures would be enforced against facilities violating regulations or compromising public health and national industry. Campaigns to reclaim unused industrial land are ongoing, with numerous plots recovered in cities like Tenth of Ramadan, Badr, Obour, and Sadat, as well as industrial complexes in Alexandria.

The minister reiterated that deepening local manufacturing is a central pillar of the ministry's strategy, with a focus on complementary industries like mold and die manufacturing due to their vital role in supporting industrial sectors and reducing imports. He also encouraged investors to explore promising regions, particularly Upper Egypt and coastal governorates, while affirming Tenth of Ramadan City's status as a leading industrial hub.

Concluding his visit, Hashem inspected the Industrial Development Authority's branch at the Tenth of Ramadan Investors Association headquarters, directing officials to streamline procedures and expedite service delivery to improve the investment climate. He also visited the Vocational Training Center in Tenth of Ramadan City, underscoring the importance of developing skilled labor to meet market demands and enhance the competitiveness of Egyptian industry.
